Ola's October

Ola's September

Why has Ola been so busy since we started Ola's Months?! Is this a good thing? Probably!

October! This has also been a big month for Ola, in terms of new music, more information about the new album and general promotion. Of course, now because it's October, Summer tours have come to an end, and we're now seeing the typical Autumn promotion for new Winter material! He's so predictable!

First of all, Ola didn't wish me happy birthday :( I didn't try very hard for a happy birthday wish, however it was my birthday on the 2nd October, and in previous years:

However, on the 8th October, Ola did share this link, which is to an acoustic version of Maybe, that he sung at Panama Studios (most likely when he was in America):

This is similar to his RixFM performance, however it does not feature da beat, which I feel this performance lacks. That songs needs a beat.

And then on the 9th October, Ola announced that his music video to Jackie Kennedy was to be released worldwide (apart from France, apparently), and it's quite special!

If you've not got time to watch it, it's basically a video montage of Ola on his travels, featuring clips from LA, New York, Spain, Italy, Sweden, all over the place. There is a very loose storyline of Ola dressed as Jackie Kennedy herself (not Ola's first or last drag moment), sitting in a restaurant and then singing. It's pretty weird, but that's just Ola for you.

If you don't already know, the reason this song is about 'Jackie Kennedy' is because Ola watched a documentary on TV about her, and she seemed like the absolute perfect woman, and so Ola epitomises her as this and the line 'where's my Jackie Kennedy?' really means 'where's my ideal girl?' (or you could say this is rhyming slang for remedy?…)

The song also topped at number 5 in the Italian iTunes charts.

However, Ola flew back over to Italy to give another interview to Deejay inc.

However, the big news of the month, is that Ola announced he was releasing yet another single! This is 'Tonight I'm Yours' and is a track from his new album. It was released in Sweden on the 18th October, and peaked at no. 4.
Once again he's gone for the strings, and it's a very European pop song. I feel he took a chance with Jackie Kennedy, however he felt that Europe, Sweden in particular, wasn't ready for something as left field as that, and skipped back over to cheesy pop to reinterest his Swedish audience. Sweden seems to enjoy this very upbeat, melodic, happy genre and clearly this is Ola's biggest chance to get played on Swedish radio, as only one radio station agreed to play Maybe.

Of course, one of Ola's crazy videos accompanies this song, and you have to appreciate the work that goes in behind these videos because they're probably 90% Ola's ideas. This was one of the main reasons he left Universal Music to set up Oliniho Records - because he wants more control over what he does. He didn't want his music videos to feature sexy girls and singing in the rain all of the time. So he decided to go with this:

If you don't understand, or have no time to watch, Ola is playing a nervous tennis player who steps on to the court to be greeted by a men in business suits, but he just dances instead. Then, Ola is also singing to himself, however has his face painted, because he likes that nowadays.
And then he cross dresses, with pink hair and a hat, and probably a lot of make up. However not all shots are of him, as there is actually a girl dressed exactly the same as him I've actually just been informed that this is not in fact a girl, but famous tennis player Björn Borg's 10 year old son. He's then sick some green goo. So, yeah.

If you have time to watch it, I'd reccommend it, even if it is just for the nightmares.

If you'd like to buy the song, it's available on iTunes Sweden here.

And on the 25th October, Ola announced that he finally finished the album! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has only taken him 3 years to write the, most likely, 10 songs on it. 78 were written for the last album, I feel more have been considered for this one. Here is the artwork for it:

I kind of like it. It's arty.

If you'd like to pre-order it, I'd reccommend it. If you live in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain or the UK, get it from CDON because it comes SIGNED if you preorder it!

If you don't live in any of those countries, you could either get it from Bengans, who deliver worldwide: http://www.bengans.se/Product.aspx?skivkod=555398&section=music or you could send me a message either by emailing jordanavia@icloud.com or finding me on Twitter / Facebook and if you paypal me the money for the album + shipping, I'll buy you a copy from CDON so that it will be signed. I've done it before!

I will leave you with this fairly amazing acoustic cover Ola did of Tonight I'm Yours in a theatre. Piano, strings and vocals only, and it sounds AMAZING.
